There is always a place at the table

Get involved

The association is carried by its members, volunteers and donors. Here is every practical way to take part — from Krimulda or from anywhere else.

Membership

Members set the direction of the association: they vote at the general meeting, elect the board and approve the annual report.

Parent members

Open to any parent, guardian, foster carer or grandparent. Members receive priority notice of workshops and may propose new activities.

Educator & professional members

Teachers, psychologists, social workers and medical staff who advise on programme content and referral pathways.

Family advocate members

Supporters outside Krimulda who contribute expertise in law, fundraising, communication or administration.

To join, write to us with your name, contact details and a sentence about why you would like to be a member. The board reviews applications at its monthly meeting. The annual fee is EUR 15 and can be waived on request — nobody is excluded for financial reasons.

Ways to give

All donations are received to the association's bank account and recorded in the annual report. We do not accept cash donations at events.

One-time donation

Any amount by bank transfer. EUR 20 buys a school starter set; EUR 45 funds one counselling session; EUR 250 covers childcare for a full parenting course.

Monthly giving

A standing order of EUR 5–50 a month is what allows us to plan a year ahead and keep the counselling fund open between grant cycles.

Educational supplies

Notebooks, backpacks, art materials, books in Latvian, sports equipment and unused winter clothing, by prior arrangement with the coordinator.

Corporate sponsorship

Companies may sponsor a specific programme, cover venue and transport costs, or run an employee collection. We provide a sponsorship agreement and a written report on the use of funds.

Donation details

Please state the purpose of the payment, for example 'Ziedojums — konsultācijas' (donation — counselling). Payment details are issued on request by e-mail so that they always match our current account information.

Volunteering

Around sixty people volunteer with us each year. Most give two to four hours a month.

  • Youth club assistant — Saturdays, working alongside a coordinator with children aged 7–14
  • Childcare volunteer during parenting workshops
  • Driver for transport to activities and appointments
  • Collection and packing volunteer for the autumn and winter drives
  • Skills volunteer — accounting, translation, photography, grant writing, web maintenance

All volunteers working directly with children complete an introductory safeguarding briefing, sign our Child Protection Policy and provide a criminal record statement, in line with Latvian law. We cover travel costs within the municipality.

Partnerships

We cooperate with schools and kindergartens in Krimulda municipality, the parish social service, the Orphan's and Custody Court, general practitioners, and other Latvian family and youth NGOs. We welcome joint project applications to the Society Integration Foundation, Active Citizens Fund and EU programmes, as well as informal referral agreements. Write to us with a short description of your organisation and the cooperation you have in mind.
